What type of cuisine do you serve?

Pacific Rim cuisine that focuses on local favorites with a style of cooking and presenting dishes that combines ingredients, influences and techniques from not only Hawaii but also Asia, California and Mexico and the western coasts in general. Please note: In order to uphold the quality and vision of our culinary offerings, we respectfully decline any substitutions.

Do you take reservations?

Yes! You may make an online reservation by visiting our Reservations page.

If you cancel within 2 hours of your reservation or do not show up for your reservation, you may be subject to a cancellation fee of $20 per guest on reservation.

A 10 minute window for your ENTIRE party to arrive for your reservation. If you or someone in your party is running behind, please notify us immediately. After 15 minutes past your scheduled reservation time, we may have to mark you as a No Show and could be subject to a $20 per guest cancellation charge.

Do you have outdoor seating?

We do! Our outdoor patio has plenty of heaters & cozy blankets available for those chilly Central Coast evenings.

Please note, if you book a reservation for our outdoor patio, we cannot control the weather & may not have space for you indoors to accommodate your last minute table change request.

Do you have parking?

Pono Pacific Kitchen has AMPLE parking behind the restaurant located at Beach Place in Grover Beach. Easiest access to our lit parking lot is to enter the driveway adjacent to our outdoor patio. Please follow the signs as to not impede on the Grover Station Grill parking lot as they will tow your vehicle.

Is the restaurant dog friendly?

You are welcome to dine with your pooch on our outdoor patio. Fido will need to enter through the side door of the patio and not through the front entrance. Service animals are exempt.

Do you have a happy hour?

Yes! Seven days a week between 4p-6p we will have our Pau Hana (Happy Hour) menu available for the bar, high top tables and patio areas only.

Do you have a corkage fee?

Yes, we have a $15 corkage fee for any bottles of wine not available on our wine list. We will happily waive your corkage fee if you order a bottle of wine from our wine list.

Are you kid friendly?

We welcome your children to our restaurant and have a limited number of booster seats and high chairs available for use. We have a very limited number of kid friendly items available, ask your server or host for more details.

Do you sell gift cards?

Yes, we do! You’re welcome to visit us during normal business hours to purchase a physical gift card in any denomination or you can purchase a digital card card right here on our website.

Are you handicap accessible?

Yes, the restaurant is fully accessible to all including wheelchairs and other mobility devices.

Who is the chef?

Award winning Chef Preston Tripp has been ingrained in restaurants since the early age of 15 in every position from busser, dishwasher, server, bartender, line cook, sous chef making his way to an Executive Chef after many years of hard work. From working in farm to table award winning restaurants on Oahu in Hawaii, Orange County and San Luis Obispo County. When he decided he wanted to try something unique and different, he purchased his own food truck.

Taking the knowledge and love for Pacific Rim food, he found much success as a food truck business owner but yearned for the fine dining restaurant experience that he was born to provide. Taking the leap of faith, Pono Pacific Kitchen was born. You’ll find Preston on the line putting his heart and soul into every single dish that comes out of the kitchen.
